The Tarpan Group specializes
in editing work for the health sciences: human and veterinary medicine, nursing,
public health, and health care policy and administration.
Tarpan Group editors have extensive experience in medical and scientific editing
and are themselves published authors or editors. The Value of Technical Editing: Manuscripts must be prepared accurately and with good readability, in order to effectively communicate the author's work. A recent study found that the quality of reporting in a manuscript is often used as a proxy for good methodology. Poor quality reporting and construction may conceal the underlying sound methodology, and can negatively affect the acceptance or publication of the work. (JAMA, June 5, 2002, 287 (21), 2801-2804). Another recent report found
that technical editing improves the readability of articles, and improves
the quality of abstracts. However, most medical and scientific journals do
not employ in-house technical editors, leaving the responsibility for clear

The Tarpan originated in Poland. The horse was known for being courageous and independent
in nature. It was never truly tamed.
